Hello, World
What coseac.swiss is: the personal site of a lawyer turned humanitarian turned engineer, with occasional essays on software, audio and AI — and why I bother writing them at all.
Updated
Every blog starts somewhere. This is mine.
I’m a lawyer who went into refugee protection, then into IT and security, and who now spends his evenings building software. The thing I build most is 1-bit, a music player for iPhone that refuses to touch the bits on their way to your DAC. This site is where I write when I have something to say about that, or about anything else that won’t sit still.
Why write?
Writing forces clarity. The moment I try to explain something I only half-understand, I find the edges of what I actually know — fast. This is where I do that thinking: in public, slowly, one post at a time.
I’m not here to be comprehensive or authoritative. I’m here to think better, and writing is how I think.
What you’ll find here
Essays, mostly. On building small software carefully, on iPhone audio, on running things at home, on what working with AI is actually like from the inside. Some posts are quick; some run long. There is no schedule, and there are no changelogs: release notes for 1-bit live on 1-bit.app, where they belong.
If you want to know what I’m up to right now, the About page has a dated “Now” section. Projects I’ve retired, and the posts written while they were alive, are kept in the archive.
Comments
At the bottom of each post there’s a comments section powered by Giscus, which means comments are really GitHub Discussions. You’ll need a GitHub account to leave one — which keeps things civil without me having to run moderation infrastructure.
I try to reply to every one.
Rewritten in September 2026, when I pruned this site down to the things I actually want it to be. The original version promised an AI red-teaming framework and a steady stream of build logs. The promise now is smaller, and more honest.
